Should we turn this into a drinking game?

Um, nevermind, bad idea. We'll all get alcohol poisoning.

Extreemly ultimate ultra-alcohol poisoning? :P
Leto II is gone for good, except for OM. The "pearl" was just that; a miniscule portion of what Leto was, and not a compressed version of the whole. The pearl that the worms have do not make them Leto, or in any way similar to him.

What the fuck is an "overly formal ultra-suit"

A personal favorite: "Amazingly white." I think it was from Jessica's Wind.

Like there are degrees of white ...

Have you seen SandChiggers results for Vermilion?

edit;
SandChigger wrote:"Vermilion Hells" comes up only 22 times. Adding another L gets you another 12.

didn't the hack pretend that proof reading was a systematic part of his putting one of his turds on the shelves?
Or maybe he'll claim the different spelling is from an in-in-universe where Irulan spitefully rewrote the word because she didn't like that colour or something?

out of curiosity I compared how many times you can find the word extreme in Dune to Nekhrun's results:

(dune because it's the only pdf I have on my work pc)

What's the word count for both books? (total I mean)

I really should have some type of method for this, and I don't think I have access to all of McDune in pdf. I'll have to do some digging. This is kind of fun.

pyrophoric

A pyrophoric substance (from Greek πυροφορος, purophoros, "fire-bearing") will ignite spontaneously in air.

Too bad he really doesn't know how to use language though.

He's saying that this will EXTREMELY ignite spontaneously in air.

I should probably clarify that those results were from my files and I haven't checked those spellings against my paperbacks. It could be that the two spellings are a result of the fact that the original files are from different sources (different scans by different people).

It is and not just the US. Publishers decided to trim costs by gutting their editorial departments. Plus, to justify the cost increases on books you end op with the bloated turds filling the shelves. Now customers complain if a book isn't at least 600 pages of putrid prose in order to justify shelling out $8 or$10 for a book.

Sheer joy:
At the front strutted an elegant man in an amazingly white outfit. He stood tall, raised one hand, and shouted: "I am Rheinvar the Magnificent, and we have come to perform for you in honor of Paul-Muad'Dib!" With a gracious gesture, he extended both hands toward the platform. "And of course, to honor the Regent Alia, the Princess Irulan, and the lovely Lady Jessica."
IT'S RHEINVAR THE MAGNIFICENT, DAMMIT!!! :angry-screaming:

This is extremely freakin' sweet. Ultimately - I hope I can help keep the fire burning.

Lets see, I'm still not done with BoC yet (and please bear in mind that I'm listening, not reading):

I've heard "robot(s)," "thinking machine(s)," and "mech(s)" all used interchangeably, specifically with Erasmus and the Cymeks. At this point what defines a Cymek has been repeated in handfuls, and how/why Erasmus is an "independent" robot (not easy to look up in context). However Cymeks are especially referred to as "thinking machines" quite commonly. I don't feel a need to outline inherent issues in present company.

Raptor (raptorlike, raptor craft, raptor vessel, raptor form, raptor ship) -cymek context - 10 hits in machine crusade.

Like (Legends series only):

like a, like an, like any - 564 hits.

like the, like this, like those - 223 hits.

like - 1688 total hits when searching for "like" only.

Objectively, there are an extreme minority of instances where "like" is used as a preferential emote by a character, or something else. Ultimately, such concessions yield less than marginal impact on results as a whole.

unlike - 46 hits.

I find very interesting the choice of the words the adjective "ultimate" refers to in both cases, and also quite revealing of the ultimate gap separating Dune and mcdune...

Just as a palate clenser, i'd like to share a favorite of mine by Douglas Adams.

The ugly yellow bulk of the Vogon Constructor ship hung in the air much in the same way a brick doesn't.

Quoted from memory,I apologize if it's incorrect.
What a beautiful way to say it right? I've no doubt the KJH is proud of their similie, maybe if one warrents a gold star they'll get to display it on the fridge!?!
